Rising to the Top: Carl Granderson’s Impressive Performance for New Orleans Saints

Carl Granderson striving for increased consistency in 2024

New Orleans Saints defensive end Carl Granderson is on top of the world after a standout 2023 season. With a career-high 8.5 sacks, Granderson played in every game for the first time and started all 17 contests. He’s set his sights even higher for the future, with a goal to achieve even more impressive numbers in 2024.

Granderson attributes his success to maintaining consistency throughout the season, despite an early season slump that kept him from reaching even bigger numbers. He posted 4.5 sacks in the first six games and three sacks in the last five games, but it was his ability to keep going through the middle of the season that ultimately led to his success.

“It’s always good to start off strong, but looking back at last year, it got rocky in the middle,” Granderson said via the team’s website. “For me, it’s maintaining and being consistent, and the numbers will come.”

Granderson is under contract with the Saints through 2027, and if his 2023 production turns out to be just a small glimpse into what he’s capable of achieving in future seasons, this deal will look like a wise one indeed.
