Rising Stars: The Pitching Potential of the Pittsburgh Pirates with Paul Skenes and Jared Jones

Paul Skenes excels in Triple-A debut with Indianapolis Indians

Pittsburgh Pirates’ top prospect, Paul Skenes, recently made another impressive start for their Triple-A affiliate, the Indianapolis Indians. In three innings, he gave up just one hit and recorded six strikeouts and one walk. Skenes has been in great form this season, having made two starts and pitched six innings so far. He has allowed only one hit and struck out 11 batters while walking just one.

As a result of his excellent performance, Skenes is expected to make his MLB debut sometime in 2024. The Pirates have high hopes for him as he continues to develop his impressive fastball that was difficult for Memphis hitters to make contact with.

Another promising prospect for the Pirates is Jared Jones, who recently made his first start in the majors and showed great potential on the mound. With players like Skenes and Jones in the pipeline, the future looks bright for Pittsburgh’s pitching staff.
