The New York Mets’ top prospects are currently making waves in their respective minor league teams. INF Luisangel Acuna has been on a hot streak at Triple-A Syracuse, picking up 11 hits in 32 at-bats this past week. Acuna, who was acquired last season, has improved his batting average to .254 and has recorded hits in 20 of the 22 games played this month. He is showing signs of settling in with the Mets organization and is having his best offensive month, with a slash line of .282/.324/.340 in May.
RHP Brandon Sproat, who was promoted from High-A Brooklyn to Double-A Binghamton two weeks ago, delivered a strong performance in his third start at the new level. In seven innings pitched, Sproat allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out five. With a current ERA of 1.89 in 19 innings at Double-A, the 23-year-old has gained attention for his solid performance this season after coming into the year as a relatively unknown prospect.
Catcher Kevin Parada, drafted by the Mets with the No. 11 pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, is currently on a nine-game hitting streak at Double-A Binghamton. His batting average has increased from .177 to .216 during this streak, and he has hit two home runs with a total of six for the season.
