Liz Wright has been a journalist at The Augusta Press since May 2022, where she focuses on reporting on community topics. Her passion for journalism drives her to report in a truthful and fair manner in order to contribute positively to her community. In June 2023, Liz was recognized as the youngest recipient and first college student to receive the Georgia Press Association’s Emerging Journalist of the Year award.
Outside of work, Liz enjoys reading novels and spending time with her energetic Pitbull. She has a particular passion for sharing positive news stories, especially those that highlight the good things happening in Augusta. Liz believes that by highlighting these stories, she can help improve the overall mood and outlook of her community.
