Rising Star Evan Neal: Giants’ X-factor in 2023 NFL Season

Evan Neal Identified as Key Player for Giants in 2024 Season

Evan Neal, the offensive lineman chosen by the New York Giants with the seventh overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft, is facing a critical phase in his career. Despite a disappointing rookie season and setbacks due to injuries in his sophomore campaign in 2023, PFF has identified him as the X-factor for the Giants’ offensive line.

Neal’s struggles reflect larger issues faced by the Giants’ offensive line as a whole, with many players receiving low grades in their first two seasons. However, the Giants have made significant investments in the offensive line during free agency, bringing in players like Jon Runyan Jr. and Jermaine Eluemunor to offer support.

As Jermaine Eluemunor stands ready to take his place at right tackle if needed, Neal will face pressure to perform early on in his third season in the NFL. The success of the offensive line moving forward will heavily depend on Neal’s performance, making it a pivotal season for him and for the team as they look to fill the gap left by Saquon Barkley’s departure in free agency.

New offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo will be working with Neal as he aims to revitalize his career. With patience from coaches and management and determination from himself, Neal can turn things around and become an integral part of the Giants’ offense for years to come.
