Rising Star Borna Vidmar Receives Harvard Book Prize in Croatia

Borna Vidmar, a 17-year-old student at Matija Mesi High School in Slavonski Brod, Croatia, has just received the prestigious Harvard Book Prize. This honor makes him one of only two students in Croatia to achieve this award. The prize was given by former Harvard University students, who recognized Borna’s exceptional achievements and hard work.

Borna is described as a talented and dedicated young man who excels in multiple areas. He has won over 20 awards and top positions in swimming competitions, mathematics, computer science, geography, physics, and history. Borna is a member of the “Marsonia” swimming club and the high school swimming team, showcasing his versatility and passion for various activities.

Despite his successes, Borna remains humble and grateful for the support of his family, friends, and teachers. He plans to pursue mathematics in college but remains open to other opportunities as he embarks on a new chapter in his life after high school. His achievements have not only made his family proud but have also earned him admiration from his school principal and math teacher.

Borna’s math teacher, Goran Knežević, praises his dedication, self-discipline, and love for learning. According to Knežević, Borna’s success is the result of hard work and sacrifice. The recognition of the Harvard Book Prize sends an important message about the value of education and knowledge that inspires other young people to strive for excellence. As Borna looks forward to future challenges and opportunities, he continues to be a shining example of determination and achievement for his peers and community.
