Rioters Target German Police in Violent Attacks during Raids

In the Connewitz district of Leipzig, Germany, a major raid against nine suspected left-wing extremists led to violent attacks on the police. The police station in this area was targeted by rioters who hurled paving stones at the entrance and covered the facade with graffiti containing the message “ACAB,” which stands for “All cops are bastards.”

The LKA and special commission “Soko LinX” conducted searches in various parts of the city that led to the arrest of these individuals. They now face charges including criminal damage, arson, and assault on a police officer.

In response to this raid, left-wing extremists erected barricades on several streets in the alternative district of Leipzig. They also pulled waste glass containers onto the streets and attempted to set wooden pallets on fire. This area has a history of clashes between left-wing extremists and law enforcement, as well as politically motivated vandalism.
