Rider Raiders: The Triple Threat Coaches Up for Nexstar Sports Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet

Nominees for Large School Coach of the Year at the 2024 Nexstar Sports Awards

The Nexstar Sports Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet is set to take place on July 11, 2024 at the D.L. Ligon Coliseum on the campus of MSU Texas. During the event, one of three coaches from a Class 4A or 5A school in Texoma will be named the Large School Coach of the Year, among 18 honors being awarded that year. The nominees for this prestigious award are Marc Bindel, Jeremy Crouch, and Carl Wiersema.

Marc Bindel led the Rider Raiders Football team to their first district title in over a decade in the 2024 season. He guided his team to another successful campaign with over 10 wins and an impressive scoring average of 21 points per game against opponents. With his motto of “Last One, Best One,” Bindel helped end Rider High School’s tenure with its tenth consecutive playoff appearance.

Jeremy Crouch had an outstanding season as coach of the Rider Raiders Baseball team in 2024. He achieved a career-high of 26 wins, surpassing any other single-season record for Rider baseball since 2013. With this achievement, he also reached third place all-time in Rider Raiders history with over 200 career wins as a head coach. Under Crouch’s leadership, the team made it to the UIL Class 5A Regional Quarterfinals for the first time since 2016.
