Rhett Lowder, a highly-touted right-handed pitching prospect for the Cincinnati Reds and the first-round pick in the 2023 draft, has been promoted from High-A Dayton to Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts. After making five starts for the Dragons, Lowder earned his call-up to the next level.
In his professional debut for the High-A Dayton Dragons in April, Lowder pitched four scoreless innings, allowing only two hits and walking one while striking out five. Over 25 1/3 innings with Dayton, he posted an impressive 2.49 ERA and a 0.947 WHIP, with six walks, 29 strikeouts, and two home runs allowed.
Ranked at No. 30 in MLB Pipeline’s top 100, Lowder has been making a name for himself since joining the Reds organization. His promotion to Double-A marks another step in his development as a promising young pitcher.
