The National Safety Council (NSC) has been awarded a $3 million grant from the McElhattan Foundation to enhance workplace safety technology. This funding will support the NSC’s Work to Zero initiative, which aims to educate employers on technological safety enhancements.
The Work to Zero program has recently launched the Safety Innovation Journey, which involves releasing educational materials and hosting webinars on safety technologies such as drones, fatigue monitoring wearables, proximity sensors, VR/AR, and geofencing technology. This initiative is made possible thanks to the support of the McElhattan Foundation.
Lorraine Martin, President and CEO of the NSC, expressed her gratitude for the Foundation’s grant. She emphasized the importance of safety technology in saving lives and how it can help achieve zero workplace fatalities by 2050 through continued implementation of advanced safety technologies.
The McElhattan Foundation was established in 1994 with a focus on supporting workplace safety. Kent McElhattan was honored for his contributions in 2021, highlighting the foundation’s commitment to this important cause.
