Revolutionizing the Search Experience: Google’s New AI Features

Google’s Astra: The AI agent for all tasks

Google is revolutionizing its search capabilities with the introduction of new AI features. The first of these is AI overviews, which provides short summaries in response to search queries. Initially launching in the US, this feature will eventually expand to more countries, streamlining the search process and providing more specific answers to complex questions.

Another exciting new feature in Google’s AI Search offering is better planning. With Gemini, an AI system, users can now ask for meal and travel suggestions, similar to consulting a travel agent for recommendations. Gemini can assist with planning recipes, weather forecasts, job interviews, and more. Users can even interrupt Gemini midsentence to ask clarifying questions, mimicking real conversations.

In addition to these features, Google has also introduced Veo, a video-generating AI system. Veo allows users more control over cinematic styles and can understand prompts like “time lapse” or “aerial shots of a landscape.” As the owner of YouTube, Google has an advantage in training generative video models. Collaborations with artists like Donald Glover and Wycleaf Jean show the potential for creative projects using this technology.
