Revolutionizing the Brewers’ Opening Day Experience with License Plate Recognition Technology

License plate technology to be implemented by Brewers on Opening Day

On Tuesday, April 2, the Milwaukee Brewers will have their Opening Day at American Family Field. To enhance the overall fan experience and reduce wait times significantly, the Brewers have partnered with Interstate Parking to install cameras throughout the stadium parking lot that use license plate recognition technology to identify each car entering.

The data collected will be securely stored in Interstate Parking’s system for 36 months before being deleted. Fans can purchase a pre-paid ticket through the MLB Ballpark app and simply scan a QR code upon arrival at the stadium. Those purchasing a pass on the day of the game will have to scan the QR code and enter their credit card information. For those without a smartphone, parking kiosks will be available on-site where they can either use a credit card or cash and enter their license plate number.

Brewers and Interstate Parking employees will be present in the parking lots during Opening Day and throughout the season to assist fans in navigating the new system. They recognize that introducing something new may cause some apprehension, but they are confident that the benefits of shorter wait times will lead to longer pre-game celebrations. Overall, the goal is to enhance the fan experience and reduce the time spent waiting in line before entering the stadium to enjoy the game.
