OPPO has recently introduced a new line of smartphones, the Reno12 5G series, which includes both a Pro and standard model. These devices share many features such as screen size and processor, but will soon incorporate AI-powered functions to enhance portrait photography. The company has introduced several tools to improve photo editing capabilities, including AI Eraser 2.0, AI Studio, AI Smart Image Matting 2.0, AI Portrait, and AI Linkboost.
One of the standout features of the new series is the AI Eraser tool, which allows users to easily remove unwanted people or elements from their photos with a simple touch. This tool works automatically, unlike its previous version that required manual selection, making it more convenient for users. Other features such as AI Clear Face, AI Best Face, AI Studio, and AI Recording Summary are also powered by AI technology to improve the overall photography experience.
Both devices feature a 6.7-inch 3D AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. However, the Pro model includes an Infinite View screen with a quad micro curve design in addition to Splash Touch technology for functionality even when wet and stereo speakers with Ultra Volume 300% and Holo Audio for an enhanced audio experience. On the other hand, the standard model comes with only basic features such as NFC and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity options and support for WiFi6 along with BeaconLink technologies for improved network performance.
In terms of camera capabilities, the OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G features a 50 MP telephoto lens and a 50 MP selfie camera with autofocus as well as AI Portrait Retouching while the standard model comes with a lesser equipped camera setup including only two rear cameras – one is a 2 MP telephoto lens and another is a 32 MP selfie camera without autofocus or retouching capabilities respectively.
