Doctors at Blessing Health Center are now using Velys Robotic-Assisted Technology to improve the experience of knee replacement surgery for Tri-States patients. During an open house in Quincy, the technology was demonstrated to patients, and it helps with aligning, balancing, and making cuts during the procedure, working alongside the surgeons to reduce recovery time and allow patients to go home the same day.
Using Velys can reduce the procedure time by around two hours. By ensuring that the knee is perfectly aligned and balanced, patients are able to recover much quicker. Some patients have even been able to regain full motion within two weeks of the procedure, sometimes without needing a cane. Since July of last year, doctors at Blessing Health have performed over 125 knee replacements using Velys Robotic-Assisted Technology. This new technology is changing the way knee replacement surgeries are done, providing patients with a quicker recovery time and better results.
