Revolutionizing Healthcare: Cohere Health and Humana Expand Partnership to Include Diagnostic Imaging, Sleep Services and Advanced AI Technologies

Cohere Health strengthens collaboration with Humana

In a recent announcement, Cohere Health and health insurer Humana have expanded their partnership to include diagnostic imaging and sleep services in addition to musculoskeletal services. The partnership began with a pilot program focusing on musculoskeletal issues and has since expanded to all 50 states, with Humana rolling out Cohere’s offerings nationwide last year.

The Cohere Unify Platform utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline the prior authorization process by offering predictive technology and clinical intelligence. Before submitting requests, the platform provides suggestions to providers, aiming to reduce insurers’ denial rates.

Cohere Health CEO Siva Namasivayam expressed excitement about the expanded partnership and emphasized the importance of evidence-based guidelines and advanced technology in aligning patient services within care pathways for faster diagnoses. Cohere Health secured $50 million in equity funding in February, bringing its total raise to $106 million. The company has experienced rapid growth, with previous funding rounds in 2021. Additionally, Cohere has partnered with Oracle to develop genAI services aimed at automating business processes.

Earlier this month, Cohere announced integration into Epic, allowing providers nationwide to submit prior authorizations directly through their electronic health record (EHR) workflows. This integration aims to streamline the prior authorization process and improve overall efficiency in healthcare.
