Revolutionizing Gas Cleaning: Metso Reintroduces OtoVentTM Technology for Efficient Off-Gas Treatment in Non-Ferrous and Ferrous Metallurgical Processes and in Oil, Gas, and Chemical Plants

Metso Brings Back OtoVent™ Technology for Improved Off-gas Quenching

Metso is excited to reintroduce the OtoVentTM off-gas treatment technology for quenching various types of off-gases in non-ferrous and ferrous metallurgical processes and in oil, gas and chemical plants. The OtoVentTM technology is commonly used at modern copper smelters due to its high quenching and pre-dedusting capability. The design of OtoVentTM ensures minimal maintenance effort and its compact size makes it suitable for both new installations and as a replacement for existing quenchers.

Metso’s Director of Gas Cleaning, Leif Skilling, highlights the Venturi-shape design of OtoVentTM that provides complete cooling of gas, effectively protecting downstream equipment and ensuring excellent pre-dedusting. With a focus on reducing maintenance needs, Metso is thrilled to reintroduce this advanced technology, drawing on their extensive experience in Gas Cleaning Plant design and construction.

The benefits of using the OtoVentTM off-gas treatment technology are numerous. It offers high-efficiency quenching for reliable protection of downstream equipment, suitability for highly corrosive gases and temperatures up to 1200 °C, effective pre-dedusting and impurity removal, easy maintenance with low lifecycle costs, customization for different processes and plant arrangements, and a compact footprint.

To ensure maximum benefits are realized, Metso experts can provide support during the commissioning of OtoVentTM technology as well as comprehensive training for operators and management. Technical support and service can also be provided as part of a service agreement.
