Revolutionizing Business Ownership: CMURC’s Lift ME Program for Black Entrepreneurs in Saginaw

Applications for the Black Business Accelerator are currently being accepted

Central Michigan University Research Corp. (CMURC) is once again inviting Black entrepreneurs in the Saginaw area to apply for its Lift ME program. This year, the application period for Lift ME is only one week long, closing at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17. To be eligible, applicants must identify as Black and must own an established for-profit business that was founded or is operating in Saginaw. Businesses that are franchises or affiliated with national chains are not eligible.

Lift ME is a business accelerator program aimed at increasing representation and leveling the playing field for Black-owned businesses. Past participants in the program have included businesses like Delicious Sweets Bakeshop, Kakes The Great Popcorn Co., and Shangri’La Candle Co.

The program offers various benefits to participants, including weekly workshops with peer discussions to build community connections, develop skills, and collaborate with other program participants. Participants will also have the opportunity to network with local business owners and community members, receive business promotion across multiple sectors within the CMURC membership ecosystem, and have access to technical assistance to support the continued growth of their Black-owned businesses.
