In collaboration with General Dynamics Bath Iron Works, Central Maine Community College (CMCC) has launched a new Manufacturing Technology short-term training program. This innovative initiative is designed to provide students with the essential skills and hands-on experience needed for successful careers in the manufacturing industry.
The program will span three weeks, with participants expected to attend 40 hours per week, totaling 120 hours of training. To incentivize attendance, students will receive a $500 attendance bonus each week. Additionally, the entire program is completely free of cost, making it accessible to all interested individuals. No prior experience is required to enroll.
The comprehensive training curriculum will cover a range of topics, including technical math, hand & power tool operation & safety, oxy cutting, track welding, basic layout, material handling, drilling & fastening, and other critical manufacturing skills. Upon completion of the program, students will have the opportunity to interview with General Dynamics Bath Iron Works for potential job opportunities.
