Revitalizing Pensacola: The Pickleball Boom, New Golf Course Lease and Expansion of Warehouse 4 Sports at the Port

Advancements made in Pickleball at Port of Pensacola’s Warehouse 4 Sports

On Tuesday, April 23, several headlines were released in Pensacola. First and foremost, the vacant International Paper golf course in Cantonment is being revitalized with a new lease on life. Additionally, the Santa Rosa Clerk has implemented stricter vendor payment methods following a fraud incident.

One of the most eagerly anticipated developments is the expansion of pickleball at the Port of Pensacola. The plans include eight tournament-size outdoor courts, as well as spaces for outdoor games and a waterfront concessions area with breathtaking views of Pensacola Bay.

The Pensacola City Council is preparing to approve a lease amendment that will allow Warehouse 4 Sports to construct pickleball courts within the Port’s boundaries. The project will also involve extending the public sidewalk for improved access to the restaurant and concession area.

In addition to these updates, Warehouse 4 Sports must also provide parking spots for American Magic headquarters within the Port’s security perimeter as part of their lease agreement. The lease terms include an increase in rent and an investment requirement of $4 million over a 15-year period.

The unanimous approval of the City Council indicates that this updated lease will move forward without any obstacles. Warehouse 4 Sports estimates that construction will take approximately three to four months once it begins.
