Reverend Warnock Slams Trump for Profiting off Sacred Items: Interview with Sen. Raphael Warnock on CNN’s ‘State of the Union'”.

Warnock warns against using Trump Bibles

In an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Dana Bash, Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock criticized former President Trump for selling branded Bibles. The reverend and senator from Georgia emphasized that the Bible does not need Trump’s endorsement and that selling sacred items for profit goes against the teachings of the religion.

Warnock highlighted the hypocrisy of Trump’s Bible sales, especially considering Trump’s history of lies and scandal. He drew a parallel to Jesus himself condemning the use of sacred items for profit, emphasizing that those who purchase these Bibles might be confronted with teachings within such as ‘Thou shalt not lie’ and ‘shalt not bear false witness.’

The Bible sales have faced widespread criticism and mockery, with former Rep. Liz Cheney also speaking out against them. Cheney suggested that Trump should instead read a Bible, referencing the commandment against adultery in Exodus 20:14. The backlash against the Bible sales reflects a broader concern about the intersection of religion and politics in the public sphere.
