Resilient Windsor: Community comes together in the aftermath of powerful thunderstorms.

Eversource works tirelessly to restore power

Windsor, CT is still reeling from the aftermath of Wednesday’s powerful thunderstorms. Cleanup efforts are in full swing as residents and businesses work to get back to normal. One home on Robin Road was damaged when a tree crashed through it, adding to the cleanup process that could take a while.

From power outages to blocked roads, the impact of the storms is being felt throughout the community. Local businesses are working around the clock to ensure they can resume operations as soon as possible. Eversource reported tens of thousands of people were without power on Wednesday night, with progress being made but still a couple thousand waiting for their lights to come back on.

Business owners are feeling the effects of the storms, with some in the food industry facing difficulties in keeping ingredients cool. Some had to discard most of their inventory, like E&D Pizza Company, who had to start from scratch for their “pizza Friday.” Power crews are putting in overtime to restore electricity to those still affected by the outages.

Despite the challenges faced by Windsor residents and businesses, the community is coming together to recover from the storm’s impact. Everyone is working hard to get back to normal and ensure that the effects of the storms are minimized as much as possible.
