Renting Nature: How Wander UP Overland is Revolutionizing Camping Accessibility in Escanaba, MI

New startup venture in Escanaba aims to simplify and expand access to camping accommodations.

Escanaba, MI – Camping is an excellent way to disconnect from technology and enjoy the great outdoors, but for some people, it can be intimidating. That’s where Wander UP Overland comes in. This new business offers a solution for community members who want to go camping but lack the necessary equipment.

Lynn and Amber Hartman started this business after renting a similar unit on vacation. They were inspired to bring the idea to the Upper Peninsula to provide an easy and accessible way for people to enjoy camping without needing to invest in expensive gear. Lynn emphasizes that setting up the equipment is quick and easy, making it accessible to everyone.

Wander UP Overland has two four-wheel Jeeps that come equipped with a rooftop tent featuring a king-sized mattress, a cook stove, utensils, camp chairs, and more. All campers need to bring are sleeping bags, pillows, fuel for the car, a stove, and a sense of adventure.

The owners aim to make camping more accessible and enjoyable for everyone, allowing people to explore the outdoors without the hassle of owning their own gear. They believe that everyone should have access to nature and that it’s essential for mental health and wellbeing.
