On Wednesday night, the Patriots celebrated Tom Brady’s incredible career by inducting him into the franchise’s Hall of Fame at Gillette Stadium. The event was attended by a crowd of 60,000 fans who were eager to witness this special occasion. As the 35th inductee into the Patriots’ Hall of Fame, Brady received a red Hall of Fame jacket to wear instead of his beloved number 12 jersey.
During his speech, owner Robert Kraft announced that the number 12 jersey would be retired in honor of Brady, and that it would never be worn again by any player. In addition to retiring his jersey, the Patriots will also be erecting a 12-foot bronze statue of Brady in the plaza outside the team’s Hall of Fame and Pro Shop.
Brady, who won six Super Bowls with the Patriots before joining and winning a seventh with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, concluded his speech with a memorable line: “I am Tom Brady, and I’m a Patriot.” The crowd erupted in cheers as they paid tribute to one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.
