Remarkable Chicken Lacy Breaks Guinness World Records by Identifying Six Elements in One Minute

Chicken from Canada Recognizes Letters and Numbers to Set New World Record

A Gabriola Island chicken named Lacy has set a new Guinness World Record by identifying six letters, numbers, and colors in one minute. The remarkable display of skill led to the creation of a new category by Guinness World Records specifically for Lacy. Emily Carrington, owner of the chickens, shared that she began training them to identify magnetic letters and numbers last year to produce eggs.

Carrington noted that her chickens were trained to peck only at the specific number or letter that she taught them, ignoring all others. Even when additional letters were added, the chickens would only peck at the designated letter. Inspired by their success, Carrington attempted to earn the Guinness World Records title for the most tricks performed by a chicken in one minute.

Lacy excelled in the challenge and correctly identified six different letters, numbers, and colors within the allotted time. This accomplishment earned her a new category on Guinness World Records specifically for her intelligence. Carrington documents her chicken training on YouTube channel “The Thinking Chicken” and expressed her satisfaction with Lacy’s achievement as it highlights animals’ surprising capabilities. She believes that people should recognize the potential of animals like Lacy and hopes that her accomplishment will inspire others to do so too.
