The Bend Park and Recreation District is excited to offer a range of youth fall sports programs that cater to different age groups and interests. Parents and guardians can now sign up their children for youth soccer, kindergarten soccer, flag football, and middle school tennis. With the busy fall season ahead, it is essential to be aware of the registration deadlines in July and August to secure a spot for these programs.
The registration deadlines for each program are as follows: Youth soccer (Grades 1st-8th, 2024-25 school year) by July 8th or until full, Kindergarten soccer (2024-25 school year) by July 8th or until full, Flag football (Grades 1st-8th, 2024-25 school year) by July 29th or until full, and Middle school tennis (2024-25 school year) by August 13th or until full. These programs emphasize participation and skill-building in a fun, recreational environment. Recreation scholarships are available for those in need.
In addition to the youth sports programs, there are opportunities for adults to volunteer as coaches. Volunteer coaches play an essential role in supporting program logistics, coaching, and mentoring youth. To be eligible as a volunteer coach, one must complete an application, undergo a background check, take a concussion training course, enjoy working with youth and create a positive and encouraging recreational environment for all players.
