Regional Science Bowl Showcases Unmatched Academic Science Skills in Southeast New Mexico

Inaugural Regional Science Bowl Held at Waste Isolation Pilot Plant

Seven schools from Southeast New Mexico gathered at Southeast New Mexico College for the Regional Science Bowl competition this year. The event featured seven teams vying for a spot at the prestigious national academic science competition. Carlsbad High School, Carlsbad Early College, New Mexico Military Institute, and Hobbs High School were among the participants.

The New Mexico Military Institute team emerged victorious in the competition with their exceptional knowledge in math and science. The team was composed of two sophomores, a junior, and a senior who outperformed the other teams during the event. They claimed the top spot and secured their place at the national competition scheduled for April 25-29.

The competition showcased each team’s expertise in various scientific fields as they demonstrated their understanding of complex scientific concepts and mathematical principles throughout the event.
