Regional High School Program Showcases Young Entrepreneurs as They Pitch their Business Ideas at Annual CEO Pitch Event

In Mt. Sterling, Illinois, a regional high school program showcased several young entrepreneurs as they worked on their latest business idea. The CEO program involves high school students from McDonough, Hancock, Pike, Brown, and Schuyler counties. These students have been refining their business ideas and had the opportunity to pitch them at the 2nd Annual Regional CEO Pitch.

Eleven young business professionals presented their plans to three judges during the pitch event. According to Maycie McCombs, creator of Maycie’s Meals, the program requires dedication and a willingness to learn. Participants in the program have found it to be valuable in teaching them important life skills, such as communication. Karly Gallaher, creator of Karly’s Kare, joined the program to improve her communication skills.

The winners of the pitch event were Justice Keene for his local broadcast, “Bomber Sports Network,” Karly Gallaher for her senior home health care service “Karly’s Kare,” and Wesley McEwen with his 3D printing service, “Dream 3D.” Following the pitch event, students will have the opportunity to set up booths at a trade show at the Crossing Camp in Rushville, Illinois on April 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. The public is invited to attend and support these young entrepreneurs.
