Real Salt Lake Defeats Austin 5-1 in 13th Unbeaten Game

Real Salt Lake continued their impressive start to the season by defeating Austin FC 5-1 on Saturday night, extending their unbeaten streak to 13 games. Cristian Arango led the way with a hat trick, scoring two goals in the first half and another in the second half.

In the first half, Arango opened the scoring in the 16th minute after receiving an assist from Chukwuemeka Eneli. Julio then scored two quick goals to give Real Salt Lake a 3-0 lead. Andrew Brody’s assist helped set up Arango’s second goal just before halftime, making it 4-0 in favor of Real Salt Lake.

Arango completed his hat trick with a goal in the 71st minute, bringing his tally for the season to 16 goals. He currently leads the race for the Golden Boot Award. Austin FC managed to score a late consolation goal through Alex Ring in stoppage time.

Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Zac MacMath made three saves to preserve the victory, while Austin’s Brad Stuver made five saves in a losing effort. In the next match, Real Salt Lake will face CF Montreal while Austin will take on Colorado Rapids on June 15th
