Richard Childress Racing has announced a change in crew chief

Richard Childress Racing has announced competition personnel changes ahead of their trip to Martinsville Speedway. The relationship between Martinsville Speedway and the winningest Cup team, Hendrick Motorsports, is a special one.

Keith Rodden, who joined RCR and the No. 3 team at the beginning of the 2023 season, has been named the lead engineer of the No. 3 team. Andy Petree, RCR’s executive vice president, stated that this change was made to strengthen RCR’s NASCAR Cup Series program for the rest of the season and to secure playoff spots for two teams.

Justin Alexander will be returning to the No. 3 pit box as crew chief for Austin Dillon. Alexander has worked with Dillon as his crew chief multiple times in the past, taking over in midway through the 2017 season and leading Dillon to a win in their first race together at the Coca-Cola 600.
