Ravens Show Interest in Former Seahawk Safety Jamal Adams for Linebacker Role

Jamal Adams, Former Seahawks Strong Safety, Meets with Ravens

Jamal Adams, a former Seattle Seahawks safety and current free agent, visited the Baltimore Ravens today. The news was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Throughout his career, Adams has primarily played as a strong safety and made three Pro Bowl teams with the New York Jets before being traded to the Seahawks in 2020. In his time with the Seahawks, he was a first-team All-Pro in 2019 despite battling injuries and missing games.

One question surrounding Adams is where he might fit in with the Ravens. Although he has primarily played as a strong safety, there has been speculation that he could transition to a linebacker role. With Patrick Queen leaving in free agency, Adams could potentially fill in behind Roquan Smith on the depth chart if Baltimore’s coaching staff sees a similar role for him. This connection is interesting considering that Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald previously worked under Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll.

It remains to be seen whether Adams will ultimately sign with the Ravens or another team as he continues his NFL career. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
