Ravens’ Derrick Henry: The Key to Victory with a Loaded Workload in 2024.

In 2024, the Baltimore Ravens have welcomed former Titans running back Derrick Henry to their roster, with the team looking to increase his workload even more. Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken has expressed his desire to give Henry the ball frequently, especially if the team can secure early leads and control the clock by running the ball.

If Henry were to carry the ball 300 times in a season, it would indicate a successful year for the Ravens, according to Monken. He emphasized the importance of Henry finishing games strong and being the primary closer for the team. With a history of high carries, including an impressive 378 carries in 2020 where he rushed for 2,027 yards in a 16-game season, Henry is well-equipped to handle an increased workload.

With the NFL’s shift to a 17-game season, a player would need to average approximately 17.7 carries per game to reach 300 carries in a year. Monken stressed the importance of keeping Henry healthy throughout the extended season and acknowledged his durability as a positive factor.

While quarterback Lamar Jackson remains the key player in the Ravens’ offense, Monken suggested that if Jackson can continue to provide big leads as he did in previous seasons, Henry may find himself as a crucial player in closing out games as a focal point for rushing attacks.

In conclusion, Derrick Henry is set up for success with his new team and could be one of their most valuable players this upcoming season.
