Raúl González, CEO for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East of Barceló Hotel Group, has a unique background. Born in Guardo (Palencia) in 1961, he describes his hometown as strange due to his father’s work stationed there. It was on International Tourism Day that led him to believe he was destined for a career in the tourism industry.

González grew up and lived in Bilbao until his work with the hotel company led him to reside in Palma de Mallorca. Despite the challenges of the industry, González admits to enjoying taking risks and being fearless and a bit mad is necessary to stay ahead in the market. His travel habits reflect this adventurous spirit as he takes around 200 flights per year, considering it a crucial aspect of his job.
