Rashan Gary Overcomes Injury to Focus on Offseason Improvements and Leadership for Green Bay Packers in 2024 Season

Packers Defensive End Rashan Gary Grateful for Injury-free Offseason

In 2023, Green Bay Packers edge rusher Rashan Gary is feeling grateful for his health after an injury-filled offseason last year. With a full and healthy offseason, Gary has been able to work on improving his skills as a football player in preparation for the upcoming 2024 season.

In November of 2022, Gary tore his ACL which resulted in him missing the remainder of the season. Although he returned for Week 1 of 2023, he was limited in his playing time early on. However, in the upcoming season, Gary will have no restrictions and has been actively participating during the offseason workouts. He is looking forward to going into training camp at full strength.

During this offseason, Gary has been focused on improving all aspects of his game, from his technique to his physical conditioning. He acknowledges that there is always room for improvement and he is dedicated to becoming the best player he can be. Before training camp begins in late July, Gary plans to take on a leadership role by organizing workouts with his defensive line teammates in either Texas or California. This will allow the group to come together, build chemistry, and prepare for the upcoming season.

In 2024, the Packers are shifting to a 4-3 base front under new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley. Gary is enthusiastic about the new defensive scheme, describing it as more straightforward and allowing for more aggressive and instinctual play. Despite his limited playing time in 2023, Gary still managed to achieve 9.0 sacks and 22 quarterback hits. With the new defensive scheme, Gary will now be playing a full-time role with his hand in the dirt, ready to attack and make an impact on the field
