Rams Sign Safety John Johnson to New Contract, Securing Key Player for Upcoming Season

John Johnson agrees to new contract with Rams

The Rams have officially signed Safety John Johnson to a new contract, putting an end to his free agency status since March. Johnson, who was originally drafted by the Rams in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, has spent four years with the team and briefly played for the Cleveland Browns in 2021 and 2022 before returning to the Rams in 2023.

During his most recent stint with the Rams, Johnson played in all 17 games and started in eight of them. Though he felt he fell short of expectations during his time in Cleveland, Johnson has proven to be a valuable asset to the Rams and will now be back for another year with the team.

Johnson’s return to the Rams solidifies the team’s safety position and ensures continuity on defense as they look towards the upcoming season. With his experience and skillset, Johnson will play a crucial role in the Rams’ quest for success in the upcoming season.
