Rams’ Rookie Quarterback Stetson Bennett Returns to Team with Renewed Focus and Energy Despite Secret Mental Health Absence

Stetson Bennett Returns with Renewed Focus Following Mental Health Break Last Year

Stetson Bennett, the Rams’ rookie quarterback, had to take a break from football during his first season due to a non-football illness. However, he is now back in the field this spring and has returned to the team with renewed energy and focus. In his first interview since coming back, Bennett kept the details of his absence private but revealed that it fell under the category of mental health.

Les Snead, the general manager of the Rams, believes that Bennett’s time off was beneficial for him as he was feeling exhausted after leading Georgia to back-to-back national titles. Bennett himself is glad to be back with the team and is excited about getting back into action.

As things stand now, Jimmy Garoppolo is facing a two-game suspension at the start of the season. This has opened up an opportunity for Bennett to secure the No. 2 quarterback position behind Matthew Stafford. If things continue to go well for him this offseason, he could lock down that role for next season.
