Radio Host Silenced at Citizens Bank Park: The Allegations and Consequences

Longtime Philadelphia broadcaster Howard Eskin banned from Citizens Bank Park following unwanted advance

In May, an Aramark employee at Citizens Bank Park accused Howard Eskin, a popular Philadelphia sports radio broadcaster, of making an unwanted advance towards her. The allegations prompted an investigation by Aramark, the food service provider for the stadium. After reviewing the evidence, Aramark confirmed the employee’s claims and took action to ensure the safety and protection of all its employees at the ballpark.

Audacy, Eskin’s employer, also conducted its own investigation and acknowledged the incident. The Phillies, who are responsible for overseeing operations at Citizens Bank Park, expressed their support for Audacy’s decision to suspend Eskin from the ballpark until the end of the season. Despite his suspension from Citizens Bank Park, Eskin will continue to appear on-air for his regular radio show.

Eskin has been a fixture in Philadelphia sports media since the mid-1980s when he joined WIP, the city’s leading sports radio station. He has hosted thousands of sports radio programs and is a familiar voice to Eagles fans as a reporter for their broadcasts. While his future on WIP remains uncertain following this incident, he has continued to host his radio show on Saturdays since it occurred. Eskin has not commented publicly on the situation following news of his suspension from Citizens Bank Park.
