The World Cycling Centre is the home to a group of talented track cyclists who are preparing for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Among them are two sprinters, Jaïr Tjon En Fa and Nicholas Paul, from the Pan American region who have had successful careers.
Nicholas Paul, a 25-year-old sprinter from Trinidad and Tobago, holds the world record in the 200m flying start and won a silver medal in the sprint at last year’s world championships. He has been training at the WCC since 2020 and has secured a quota for his nation to compete at Paris 2024.
Jaïr Tjon En Fa, a 30-year-old cyclist from Suriname, found his speed later in his career after training at the WCC since 2018. His breakthrough performance came at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 where he narrowly missed the podium in the men’s keirin. He followed up with a silver medal in the sprint at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile.
Joining Paul and Tjon En Fa at the WCC are Olympic hopefuls Jai Angsuthasawit of Thailand and Vasilijus Lendel of Lithuania. Angsuthasawit, winner of the men’s keirin at the 2018 Asian Games, secured a track cycling quota for Paris 2024 earlier this year and aims to be
