Race to Sign: Chelsea’s Striker Search Heats Up with David and Guiu as Top Targets

Chelsea in talks for transfers of Lille’s David and Barcelona’s Guiu

Chelsea is actively seeking a striker to sign ahead of the upcoming season, with David and Guiu being top targets. The Blues have expressed interest in Lille striker Jonathan David, who has just one year left on his contract and could be available for less than £30m. However, competition for his signature is fierce, with Manchester United, Tottenham, and West Ham also interested.

Additionally, Chelsea is eyeing Barcelona teenager Marc Guiu, who has a contract that expires next summer and includes a £5m release clause. Despite being in talks to renew his deal with Barcelona, Guiu is also attracting interest from Chelsea.

Chelsea has been in discussions about potential signings, including attempting a swap deal for Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran and making a £34m bid for Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion, which was rejected. Despite these setbacks, the club is eager to secure a striker following talks with new manager Enzo Maresca in Marbella.
