Race to Recruit: Battle for Four-Star EDGE Rusher Isaiah Gibson Heats Up between Georgia and USC

Recruiting specialist predicts top EDGE rusher will choose Georgia

Georgia is facing competition from USC and other schools in recruiting four-star EDGE rusher Isaiah Gibson, who has been considering changing his destination. Gibson originally committed to USC in March but On3’s Steve Wiltfong recently changed his projection for Gibson to Georgia.

Gibson stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs 245 pounds, making him one of the top EDGE rushers in the class of 2025. He dominated at Warner Robins High School, recording 17 sacks and 55 hurries last season while causing havoc for opposing quarterbacks. Aside from football, Gibson also plays basketball at his high school.

Georgia already has one EDGE rusher committed in the class of 2025, Darren Ikinnagbon from New Jersey. The Dawgs have been engaged in recruiting battles with the Trojans, including flipping five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry in March after he had been committed to Georgia for two months. With both teams vying for Gibson’s commitment, it remains to be seen which school will ultimately win out over him.
