Parliament’s Impressive Decrees and Confidences Leading Up to the Holidays

As the summer break approaches, both the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate have a tight deadline of 30 days or 33 sessions to approve all pending measures before closing for the summer. This timeframe includes several decrees that must be converted into law by early August to avoid expiration.

The government and majority are gearing up for a busy month ahead, with group leaders meeting to create a work agenda for July that prioritizes approving expiring decrees and other priority measures before the break. Measures such as the Nordio bill on abuse of office and the Cohesion decree are up for discussion and approval in the coming weeks. The Cohesion decree, Agriculture decree, and other important measures are on the agenda for July, with deadlines set for conversion into law by early August.

In addition to emergency measures, the government aims to pass some bills before the summer break. These include bills on the start of the new school year, abuse of office, and tax system restructuring.
