Rabbi Menachem Margolin Urges Belgian Authorities to Act Swiftly After Anti-Semitic Attack on Ohana

Europe’s Anti-Semitic Attack: A Jewish Father and Daughter Targeted

Rabbi Menachem Margolin, Chairman of the Association of Jewish Organizations in Europe (EJA), strongly condemned the attack on Ohana and urged the Bruges police chief to bring the perpetrators to justice. He emphasized that the attack was an anti-Semitic and racist hate crime, citing the increasing harassment of Jews and Israelis in Belgium.

Rabbi Margolin expressed concern over the escalating violence, noting that verbal attacks were turning into physical assaults with potentially disastrous consequences. He called on the authorities to act decisively against the perpetrators before the situation worsens. Highlighting the need for immediate arrest and legal action against the anti-Semitic attackers, he warned that failure to do so could lead to further violence targeting anyone perceived as Western.

The incident sparked widespread outrage and calls for justice from various organizations and individuals. After being severely attacked, Ohana was taken to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with a broken jaw. Despite part of his attack being recorded on security cameras, he felt that they were not willing to take action against his attackers.

The Association of Jewish Organizations in Europe (EJA) condemned Ohana’s attack and urged Belgian authorities to bring his attackers to justice. Rabbi Menachem Margolin highlighted that this was an anti-Semitic hate crime that should be recognized as such.
