Skytrax, an air transport rating firm, has announced that Qatar Airways is the best airline in the world for the 2023-2024 edition. This marks the eighth time Qatar Airways has held this title since 2011, moving up from second place last year. Emirates followed closely behind in third place, one spot higher than their previous ranking.
Despite being dominated by Asian carriers, no U.S. airlines made it onto the top ten list. Delta Air Lines was the highest-ranked U.S. airline, coming in at 21st position, down one spot from the previous year.
Qatar Airways received several awards in addition to being named the overall winner. They were also named the best business class airline and top airline in the Middle East. Singapore Airlines, in second place, received accolades for their cabin crew, first class service and best airline in Asia respectively.
In terms of budget travel, AirAsia from Malaysia was named the best low-cost airline while Scoot took home honors for long-haul flights among low-cost options
