Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Turkey is still in the works, as confirmed by Yuri Ushakov, an adviser to the president on international affairs. However, the dates for Putin’s visit to Turkey have not yet been finalized, as per recent information from the office of Turkish President Recep Erdogan. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov explained that the visit has not occurred because of conflicting work schedules between the leaders of both countries.
Despite the delay in the visit, high-level contacts between Russia and Turkey will continue, according to a statement from Putin’s spokesman a week ago. The visit is expected to take place once the schedules of both leaders align.
According to Ushakov, Putin’s trip to Ankara or Istanbul remains on his agenda. He mentioned that it was a priority for both leaders and that they were working towards finding a suitable date for the trip.
