Purple Squid Smashes the Big Leagues: 9z Globant’s Triumph at Counter Strike 2 World Championship in Buenos Aires

Globant’s Victory in Counter Strike 2 Results in the Obelisk Turning Purple Again

The Rock Temple of the City of Buenos Aires, Sanitary Works, played host to another historic achievement by 9z Globant in the team-based action and shooting video game, Counter Strike 2. This time, the purple squad emerged victorious as champions and claimed a cash prize of 100 thousand dollars. The iconic stage brought together some of the best esports players from Argentina, including Beast and 9z Globant, as well as teams from Brazil, Sweden, England, and Spain.

The purple team was led by streamer and CEO Frankster and reconfirmed their exceptional level of play. But this time they faced a new challenge: playing in front of their home audience at Obras. In an unforgettable final match against Fnatic, one of the most important esports teams in history, 9z Globant left them behind with 13-10 and 13-4 victories on Dust2 and Inferno respectively. The atmosphere at Obras was electric as fans packed every corner of the venue to cheer on their favorite team.

Max, Dgt, MartinezSA, Buda, and Huasopeek shone in each game with their exceptional skills supported by a passionate audience that turned the event into a celebration of Argentine CS. Their journey began with a tough loss to NIP but continued with victories over BEAST and the Brazilians of Pain before advancing to the playoffs where they eliminated difficult rivals with ease. In the semi-final against KOI (a Spanish team), 9z showed an incredible level of play with a double 13-4 victory which led them to their final match against Fnatic. MartinezSA and Dgt took charge as always guided by Max while leading their team to victory like true professionals.

The City of Buenos Aires did not want to miss out on celebrating this new national title for Counter Strike 2 so they dyed their iconic Obelisk purple once again as part of BA Gaming initiative aimed at establishing Buenos Aires as Latin America’s capital for technological development. Through initiatives such as BA Gaming Training Academy for young gamers’ professionalization and Gaming Labs equipped spaces for competition between gamers and streamers; Buenos Aires is determined to continue its momentum towards becoming a leader in esports in Latin America.
