Purdue Polytechnic PhD Student Pragetheiswar Giri Honored with Graduate Teaching Award and Elected Team Chair

Graduate student in Engineering Technology awarded teaching accolade by Purdue Teaching Academy

Pragetheiswar Giri, a PhD student in Purdue Polytechnic’s School of Engineering Technology, was recently honored with the prestigious Graduate Teaching Award from Purdue University’s Teaching Academy. Giri, who has been a doctoral student in the technology program since 2021, also secured the position of team chair in Purdue’s Graduate Student Government for the upcoming academic year.

While Giri views these achievements as personal milestones, he sees them as a way to showcase Purdue Polytechnic’s active involvement in the larger university community. He is currently focused on enhancing cancer drug delivery and has a passion for machine learning and robotics in his research.

The Graduate Teaching Award recognizes graduate students who demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and have teaching responsibilities at Purdue. Recipients are chosen by academic departments for their dedication to undergraduate education. The award is supported by the Teaching Academy and the Office of the Provost, emphasizing the importance of excellence in teaching at Purdue University.
