The Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics is joining forces with Richland Public Health to give away 100 bike helmets to children from eligible families. On Tuesday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a youth event called “Put a Lid on it!” will take place at the Buckeye Imagination Museum, located at 175 W. Third St., with easy access to parking via West Third Street.
Families in the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program and Medicaid-eligible families are invited to participate in the helmet giveaway, with free admission for the first 100 children accompanied by a parent receiving a helmet. In addition, there will be a helmet decoration station and free car seat checks provided by certified car seat technicians.
