Promoting Wellness in the Workplace: MHWC Seeking Applications for Partner Certification and Healthiest Workplaces Awards

Applications Now Open for Worksite Certification and Faith-Based Partnerships with Austin Mayor’s Health and Well-Being Council for 2024

The Mayor’s Health and Well-Being Council (MHWC) is currently seeking applications from workplaces to become MHWC Partner Certified. This program recognizes organizations that have committed to implementing best practices that improve health and wellbeing in their workplaces. By achieving MHWC Partner Certification, companies will be acknowledged for their efforts in areas such as nutrition, physical activity, tobacco-free living, health education, preventative services, policies and programs.

In addition to the Partner Certification program, MHWC is also accepting applications for the Mayor’s Healthiest Workplaces Awards. Faith communities are also encouraged to participate by receiving assistance from Austin Public Health (APH) in establishing and reaching health and well-being goals.

The deadline for both the Partner Certification and Healthiest Workplaces Awards is July 31st, 2024. As a nonprofit organization established in 2004, MHWC aims to make Austin one of the healthiest communities in the country by forming connections within the community and supporting the implementation of best practices and programs that promote well-being. Over the past 20 years, MHWC has had a significant impact on countless individuals and families by promoting healthier living environments and fostering a culture that values health within communities. As they celebrate their 20th Year Anniversary, MHWC remains committed to its mission of creating a healthier and more vibrant Austin for future generations.
