Prom 2025 at the Museum of Science and Industry: Excited Lockport High School Students Plan to Make Chicago Memories Despite Transportation Concerns

Board of Education at LTHS Ratifies Prom Contract with Museum of Science and Industry

The Lockport Township High School (LTHS) Board of Education has approved a contract with the Museum of Science and Industry for Prom 2025 in Chicago, IL. The estimated cost of the contract, assuming 700 attendees, is $99,064.96, according to Board documents. The funds for the prom will be raised through ticket sales by students.

In accordance with Board documents, students have expressed a preference for the prom to be held at the museum, despite concerns about transportation to Chicago. If transportation becomes an issue, the District will explore options to ensure that students can attend the prom.

For Prom 2024, a total of 932 tickets were sold at $135 each at Pheasant Run. The museum was chosen as the venue due to its capacity to accommodate up to 1,000 students from Lockport. As a result, it has become one of the few venues in the Chicago area that can host an event of this size. Prior to choosing the museum as a venue for prom five years ago, LTHS held it at Pheasant Run.
