Pride Weekend Returns to San Francisco with Vibrant Events and Anticipated Reopening of Local Businesses

Pride Weekend Drives Business Boom as 1 Million People Flock to San Francisco

San Francisco is currently hosting Pride Weekend, a popular event that attracts over one million visitors to the city. Local businesses are excited about the influx of crowds and special events, including Ginger’s, the only gay bar in the Financial District of San Francisco. After being closed during the pandemic, Ginger’s is reopening just in time for Pride Weekend. General Manager Dana Marinelli is thrilled about the high volume of customers that are expected to flock to the bar over the weekend and hopes that the event will help revitalize downtown San Francisco.

In addition to SF Pride, there are several other events happening throughout the city this weekend that are likely to keep first responders busy. The Civic Center will host vendors and performances on Saturday, while the Pride parade will take over Market Street on Sunday. Cheer SF, along with cheerleaders from San Diego and Sacramento, are gearing up to perform at the parade and celebrate the rich diversity of San Francisco’s residents. The events will cause road closures throughout the city, with some streets already closed and additional closures expected on Friday night. Several Muni lines will also be rerouted to accommodate the parade route on Sunday.

Despite these challenges, city leaders are gathering to discuss safety measures and precautions that need to be taken to ensure a smooth and successful weekend for all attendees. With a million people expected in San Francisco over the weekend, it’s important that everyone stays safe and enjoys all that this great city has to offer during Pride Weekend 2021.
