President Zelensky Accuses China of Sabotaging Ukraine Peace Conference in Switzerland

Zelensky Condemns Beijing: “Opposes Swiss Peace Conference”

During his trip to Singapore, President Volodymyr Zelensky accused China of working against the upcoming peace conference in Ukraine scheduled in Switzerland. According to Zelensky, China is trying to prevent countries from participating in the peace summit by launching cyber attacks and spreading disinformation.

The Ukrainian leader also accused Russia of launching a thousand attacks on Ukraine in the last week alone, using various types of missiles, anti-aircraft missiles, and attack drones. Zelensky emphasized the importance of protecting life in Ukraine by providing the necessary air defense systems and weapons to soldiers, while also putting pressure on Russia to prevent further attacks.

China has indicated that President Xi Jinping will not attend the peace summit due to scheduling conflicts. The United States has not confirmed its participation yet, but over a hundred countries and organizations have committed to participating in the summit. Zelensky urged countries in the Asia-Pacific region to join as well.

Recent statements from China suggested that it would be difficult for them to participate in the summit if Russia is not invited, a sentiment echoed by Moscow. However, during his meeting with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin in Singapore, Austin reiterated the unwavering support of the US for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. According to Zelensky, the path to peace involves ensuring that Ukraine has access to all necessary defense measures and putting pressure on Russia to stop attacking innocent civilians.
